Yasuo Urata established Oncolys BioPharma, Inc. in 2004 after serving various executive functions at Japan Tobacco (JT)'s pharmaceutical division, including a Director of R&D Planning. He also has been a Director of Tacere Therapeutics, Inc (U.S.) since July 2007. During the time of JT from 1994 to 2004, Mr. Urata launched the innovative HIV drug, Viracept(r) with Agouron, and led many drug development projects such as GVAX project with Cell Genesys and the cancer vaccine project with Corixa. Before JT, he served as a clinical project leader mainly for cardiovascular and central nerve system fields at Ono Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Mr. Urata holds B.S. and M.S. from Kyoto Pharmaceutical University. |
